Carbonite Code bench status
A Windows software-bench attempt on July 15, 2026 could not proceed to installation. Ross Video's official download pages require an authorized Ross Community sign-in, and Carbonite Code requires a Ross-issued trial or full license. No installer or evaluation entitlement was available, so no live TCP transcript was produced and no firewall change was made.
Important differences
- RossTalk commands are ASCII, case-sensitive, and terminated with CR/LF over persistent TCP, commonly on port 7788.
- Vision uses MLE numbering where other families may use ME numbering.
- XPression framebuffer numbering in RossTalk is zero-based.
- Command responses must be supported by the selected family and enabled on the device. Fire-and-forget actions remain Sent — Unverified.
Not included in version 1.0
Automatic discovery, video preview, universal Program/Preview state, graphical XPression editing, full Ultrix configuration, and transactional macros are outside the 1.0 scope.
