Start in Demo Mode
Demo Mode includes the complete editing and control workflow without opening a socket. Use the included Evening News show to test switcher, graphics, routing, playback, emergency pages, macros, protected cues, and Activity Log export.
Connect a real device
- Place your iPhone or iPad on the same trusted local network as the device.
- Add the device manually with its IP address or hostname. RossTalk commonly uses TCP port 7788.
- Enable command responses only when your device family and configuration explicitly support them.
- Start Live Control and approve the local network permission when iOS requests it.
What the statuses mean
- Sending: the command is being processed.
- Sent — Unverified: the TCP write completed, but the protocol did not provide a documented confirmation.
- Confirmed: a documented response was received.
- Failed: the command could not be sent or a documented error occurred.
- Unknown: the connection ended while the outcome was uncertain.
Troubleshooting
Confirm the address, TCP port, family selection, RossTalk configuration, and firewall rules. Denying Local Network access prevents real connections; you can change this later in iOS Settings. Broadcast Cue Deck never automatically replays an earlier cue after reconnecting.
Support export
The Activity Log can be exported as JSON. Network addresses are excluded by default. Include them only when you understand that the exported file may reveal local infrastructure details.
